BFS took part in the traditional annual CCA conference.
The annual CCA conference serves as a great opportunity to introduce the company and its services to new members. It helps foster relations with existing members, re-evaluate the achieved results with current partners, share ideas and set goals and objections for the following year. The meetings were conducted using an „On – Line Meeting Appointment System“.
Undoubtedly it is a very useful conference that helps expand the circle of our partners and provides our clients with an even broader list of countries that are being served.
We are extremely excited that BFS UAB has joined the list of TRANS.EU certified freight forwarders.
TCF certificate is a confirmation of a timely fulfillment of the obligations and the best quality of service delivery.
Each year Lithuanians get together to clean the environment to make it brighter, greener, safer. The initiative „DAROM“ has been in place since 2008. During the past 8 years more than a million people participated in the initiative and more than 35 000 tons of garbage were collected. BFS employees together with their families have joined this meaningful event this year. As a result the area between the bank of Neris in Vingis Park and the stadium of the University of Educational Sciences is cleaner and nicer now. We care about the environment and are proud to contribute to our community and raise awareness.
With great pleasure BFS team took part in an annual Career Days event at VGTU that is traditionally held at the university every March. This time the slogan of the event was “Dive deep”.
This unique event allows us to find out what today’s youth is interested in, what they study and how can we – logistics professionals – make these young students familiar with today’s business in the transportation sector. The Career Days slogan “Dive deep” perfectly represented the idea of the event. Students were introduced to the company’s work specificity, activity and atmosphere in detail and most importantly to the career opportunities. All the questions were answered and discussions were developed regardless of the student’s course year. Freshmen and sophomore students were encouraged to study hard and do not doubt their chosen specialty, while third-year and senior students were represented with the opportunity to carry out practice in our company.
The most important things that have been achieved at the event:
- Represented ourselves to the students of the best Lithuanian Technical University;
- Improved awareness of the company;
- Established contacts with VGTU students and their professors/teachers/instructors;
- Accomplished an enormous educational work.
And this is only a small part of the future professionals whose eyes are shining with enthusiasm!
Baltic Freight Services recently organised a Blood Donor Session at its offices in Vilnius. The event was coordinated by Aurimas Gailiunas, Head of Road Freight, who made all the necessary arrangements with the Nacionalinis Kraujo Centras, the National Blood Centre. The initiative, the first of its kind organised by BFS, even drew the spontaneous participation of other companies within the same office building. BFS is looking forward to its next CSR activity in order to give back to society. Giving back and acting responsibly are important principles at BFS as it adheres to the values of its ultimate parent company Hili Ventures, which are grounded in integrity and responsibility. This philosophy extends from its business activities to its CSR initiatives. BFS strives to leave the most positive impact on its employees, clients, suppliers, and most importantly communities and the environment.
A team from Baltic Freight Services manned a booth at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University’s Careers Day to talk to students about opportunities in transport logistics and introduce them to Hili Ventures.
Managing director Nicolai Portelli and head of sales Rytis Mameniskis answered students’ questions and discussed career paths available to students. It was a valuable opportunity for the BFS team to share their international knowledge and experience of the industry.
This was BFS’ first initiative at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Throughout the day, Nicolai and Rytis spoke to dozens of students who enquired about transport logistics. The BFS team also shared information about Hili Ventures, the group of companies based in Malta of which BFS forms part.
BFS is keen to share its knowledge with the next generation of business leaders, and intends to participate in other similar activities at colleges and universities in Lithuania and around the Baltics.
